Kate Mornement
Animal Behaviourist & Consultant
I’m a Melbourne based Animal Behaviourist and I've been consulting professionally for almost 10 years. I love working with bird owners to promote amazing relationships between people and their companion birds. I have excellent university credentials and practical experience which I have obtained both in Australia and overseas. I’ve learned from and worked with renowned bird trainers and behaviourists including Dr Susan Freidman, Steve Martin, Terry Ryan and Barbara Heidenreich and, over the years, have owned and trained many bird species including chickens, budgies, cockatiels, lovebirds, lorikeets, conures, ringnecks, cockatoos, alexandrines, amazons, Eclectus and macaws. I’m very excited to be partnering with Bird Vet Melbourne because health and behaviour are intimately related and drawing expertise from both fields enables us to deliver great outcomes for birds and owners.

Trainee Nurse
Please see our new website at http://www.birdvetmelbourne.com/
Hey my name is Jess and like the other nurses at our practice I have a deep heart for birds and their welfare. I am a country girl who grew up on a dairy farm in Northern Victoria and have loved having birds and other animals around me.
This year I have started my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Box Hill Institute of TAFE. I am currently being trained in the Veterinary Nursing field and learning new things everyday. Back at home on the farm have a herd of around 250 freisian cattle and I like to travel home as often as I can and help out on the farm but I love my job at Burwood Bird and Animal Hospital as well. You know that I will be doing my very best to help the vets and give you and your birds and other pets the best of care.
